Maintenance-Free Internal Cure & Seal for Concrete Driveways
A better seal for concrete, built into every pour and backed for life.
Why Most Driveway Sealers Don't Last
Most contractors will tell you to reseal your driveway every couple of years. That’s because they use topical sealers that sit on top of the concrete. Those sealers wear off, peel, fade, and trap moisture underneath. You pay again, you wait again, and even when it’s fresh, that kind of seal only protects the top layer.
We do it differently. The seal goes into the concrete itself while we’re pouring it. That comes from our mix design, the additives we put in, and the way our crews finish the slab. The result is a denser, stronger driveway that holds up to St. Paul winters without you ever having to touch it.
That’s why we say it plainly. We sell maintenance-free concrete driveways, for life.
What Makes Our Concrete Maintenance-Free
We’ve been pouring driveways for over 30 years. Here’s what we put into every single job.
The right mix. We use a concrete mix that’s tested and proven for Minnesota’s freeze and thaw winters. It’s not a generic bag mix. It’s the one we know holds up around here.
The right additives. We add performance additives that seal the concrete from the inside, not the top. That’s where the maintenance-free part comes from.
The right finishing. Our crews finish every slab with techniques that tighten the surface and make it more weather-resistant. The finish matters as much as the mix.
A warranty with lifetime support. If something ever isn’t right, we stand behind it. You won’t be passed off to a manufacturer or a sub. You call us, we come out.
Real customer service. From the first time we meet with you to the final black dirt and seed in your yard, we walk through every step with you. Nothing gets skipped, nothing gets rushed.
Our 4-Step Process
You don’t get a maintenance-free driveway by spraying something on at the end. You get it by doing the whole job right from the start. Here’s how we work.
1. Tear-Out
We pull out your old asphalt or concrete, fix any sub-base problems, and get the site ready for proper drainage and a stable pour.
2. Set-Up
We set forms for your project, double-check grading, and make sure thickness and slope are right before any concrete shows up.
3. Pour
We place, finish, and detail the concrete using our mix and our additives. This is where the seal goes in, while the concrete is still wet. You can't add it later.
4. Cut and Clean
We cut control joints to manage cracking, clean up the site, and finish with complimentary dirt and seed so your yard is ready to enjoy.
We don’t use subcontractors. The crew that shows up is our crew, every time. That’s how we keep quality consistent across every job.

Maintenance-Free Seal for Concrete FAQs
1. How often do I need to reseal my concrete driveway?
With a typical concrete driveway, every 2 to 3 years. With ours, never. We seal the concrete from the inside while we're pouring it, so there's nothing on top to wear off or reapply. That's what we mean when we say maintenance-free for life.
2. What's the difference between a topical sealer and an internal seal?
A topical sealer is a coating sprayed onto the surface after the concrete cures. It protects the top layer for a year or two before it wears down, peels, or fades. Then you reseal.
Our internal seal is built into the concrete itself through the mix design and additives we use during the pour. It doesn't sit on top, so there's nothing to wear off. The whole slab is denser and more weather-resistant from day one.
3. How much does it cost to seal a concrete driveway in St. Paul?
With Cornerstone, you don't pay for resealing at all because the seal goes in with the original pour. With a typical contractor, expect to pay a few hundred dollars every couple of years for resealing, and that adds up over the life of the driveway. For a new driveway, pricing depends on size, tear-out, and base work, which is why we give a free on-site estimate.
4. Will road salt damage my new driveway?
Salt and winter chemicals are tough on standard concrete. Our mix and additives are chosen specifically for Minnesota winters, so the slab handles freeze and thaw cycles and resists the surface damage that comes from de-icers. We still recommend a rinse in spring like you'd do with any driveway, but you won't need to reseal it.
5. How long does a Cornerstone concrete driveway last?
A properly poured concrete driveway can last 30 years or more. Ours are built to hit the high end of that range because of the base prep, mix, and finishing we put into every job. And the warranty with lifetime support means if something ever does go wrong, you're not on your own.
