Our Proven Process for Residential Concrete Driveway Installation and Replacement

We have factorized the process of installing and replacing a concrete driveway. Systematically, one crew at a time flows through the concrete installation process, performs their duties at an expert level and then moves on to the next driveway. Below, in chronological order are our four crews:

Tear Out Crew (Replacement)

  • Use a bobcat and dump truck to tear out existing driveway
  • Dispose of the material at local recycling station

Set Up Crew

  • Set up forms per specifications, grade, and compact subsoil

Pour Crew

Cut and Clean Crew

  • Lay out and cut expansion cuts
  • Clean up

While our concrete driveway processes are proven, we know North St. Paul and Maple Grove Minnesota winters are not always kind to concrete. With proper care and maintenance, your driveway will last for 25 – 30 years. However, if you do see cracking, we offer a warranty on your finished project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to prepare for a concrete driveway installation

Please make sure the following is complete prior to the crews arriving:

  • All vehicles removed from the garage
  • Landscaping that is within 2ft of the driveway should be moved or may result in damage
  • Standard concrete trucks are approx. 14ft in height. Any tree branches that line the driveway should be trimmed accordingly or will be at risk of damage
  • A hose should be hooked up and accessible
  • All vehicles parked on the street should maintain a 30ft distance from the driveway during installation
  • If you will not be on the premises during installation, please make arrangements to have your garage open or provide the office with your garage code
  • There is an inevitable splash/splatter of concrete when it is poured. Please remove items in the garage that could be subject to this “splash zone”

Will the sealant lock in dirt and stains?

No it will not. We use a penetrative siloxane sealer approximately 1 month (+/-) after your project is poured. Siloxane helps prevent the infiltration of moisture into the surface of the concrete. This sealer can cause water to “bead” on the concrete surface. We recommend that you seal your driveway every 3 years. We have two different sealing packages available for purchase. Please contact the office for details and current pricing.

If your concrete contains e5 no sealing is needed. E5 is a micro silica based curing agent put into the concrete when it is mixed. It cures the concrete better than any membrane or water cure method that is on the market today, to the point of making the pore structure of the concrete that sealer would normally fill so tight that sealer is no longer required.

How do you repair damaged/cracked concrete?

Concrete driveways, known for their durability, can develop cracks over time, especially with the Midwest’s harsh climate due to freeze-thaw cycles, soil movement, and heavy loads.

While minor cracks can be repaired with DIY kits involving cleaning, filling, and smoothing, professional services are recommended for extensive damage. Professionals provide expertise, high-quality materials, and long-lasting solutions that withstand severe weather conditions.

To prevent future cracks, regular maintenance and sealing, proper drainage solutions, and avoiding heavy loads are essential. These measures help ensure the longevity and appearance of concrete driveways.

How much does a new driveway cost?

The cost of a new concrete driveway depends on the size measurements, add-ons (like a patio or sidewalk), and chosen aesthetic elements (like stamping, coloring, and borders). A member of our team will come to your home to accurately measure the area and discuss the project in detail. You will then receive a quote!

We also offer financing options through Enhancify to help break up the payments. A concrete driveway is an investment, and we want to ensure homeowners have options to choose from.
